National Off Road Registration Centre

NORRC

HOW DOES NORRC WORK?

In much the same way as the DVLA. If your car is stolen it takes the police only a few moments to check if it is registered as stolen.

If it's stolen the car is impounded then returned to its rightful owner. If you go to buy a second hand bike you can check to see if this bike is registered stolen with one simple phone call just give us the location of the bike, engine & frame numbers before you buy. If it's registered as stolen they will tell you so. They will report the whereabouts to the police meaning one more bike returned to its rightful owner. The police will be the only outside body to have full access to our database to check for stolen, & register recovered machines. In other words for once YOU the POLICE & NORRC are working together to retrieve & return your beloved machines.

As it stands now if a bike is stolen up north & sold down the south even if the police were to come across it in the south they can't check every police force in the country to find out if its stolen or not. But with this database it will take only a few moments to see.

There will be a yearly registration fee of fifteen pounds for your first bike & ten pounds a year for every bike after that. There will be two ways of registering your machines you will soon be able to register at www.norrc.co.uk & complete on-line & pay with a credit or debit card, or just fill in the form & send it to us along with a cheque or postal order by post.
